Sketch Dump

Here are some sketches that reside in my sketchbook - bad drawings and all. Thought it would be cool to upload full pages instead of only select drawings.

These vary from concepts and rough drawings for assignments, to my own studies outside of school.

Which character did you base the bear one off of? Was it from the disney Robin Hood movie?

I couldn't tell you! Haha. I made a concious decision to not watch Brother Bear, Robin Hood or any other artists interpretation of an anthropomorphized bear. I wanted it to be my own.
That being said, theirs no doubt that I was subconciously influenced by those films and other great artists!

??? So the print outs you were looking from when you were in the studio yesterday were your own drawings?

Omar said...

Yep! I printed them so I could tape them to my animation paper.

Damn, I thought they were xeroxed copies of an existing design for reference O_o

Oh, what you call *bad* is very inspiring to me. To see the not-so-good development sketches for a neat final piece sometimes encourage the less-skilled one (like me) and help them to understand the design process better.
PS: I find the cartoon bear study really impressive
